A vehicle fire at about 7 p.m. this evening sent a thick plume of black smoke into the air on Rte. 295 North today near the Rte. 37 on-ramp, blocking traffic.
State Police and Cranston Police Cruisers were rushing to the scene at about 7 p.m. from Rte. 37 and Rte. 295 South. The smoke was visible from Post Road in Warwick, and from Smithfield on Rte. 295.
