• Rhode Island medical examiner's case backlog could shrink as state makes hires (wpri.com) — Rhode Island’s state medical examiner is now operating from a newer facility on Highland Corporate Drive in Cumberland, where process changes and a growing staff are finally shrinking a long-standing case backlog. Two new assistant medical examiners are set to join Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Marius Tarau in the coming months, reducing reliance on out-of-state contractors and aiming to speed up case closures statewide.
