East Greenwich Makes Mattress Disposal Easy

EAST GREENWICH, RI—East Greenwich residents have a few, free ways to get rid of an old mattress.

The Bye Bye Mattress! program is a statewide mattress recycling program and here in east Greenwich, residents can drop off mattresses and box springs for free on Saturdays at the town's Transfer Station near Town Dock on Crompton Avenue.

There is also an option for curbside mattress removal, but appointments must be made in advance and items will be taken away just one Saturday per month.

This month, the curbside removal day is May 21. To make an appointment, call the town's Department of Public Works at 401-886-8620.
