Twelfth Anniversary Of Sept. 11 Attacks
Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Sept. 11.

Sept. 11 Anniversary: It’s been 12 years since that beautiful, terrible day in New York, Washington, D.C., and Somerset County, Penn. To mark the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Gov. Lincoln Chafee will call for a voluntary statewide moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. “To honor that day’s many victims, from Rhode Island, across the country, and around the world, I ask that Rhode Islanders observe a respectful moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. September 11, 2001, was a tragedy on every scale imaginable, and it is my hope that on its upcoming anniversary we are all able to engage in silent remembrance of those who were lost,” said Chafee. Here is a story about two EG residents who lived through Sept. 11, 2001, when they were living in New York City.
