Five Things: 2014 Budget Talks, Froyo Fundraiser

Town Council–School Committee meeting: The two panels will discuss the 2012 financial report with auditors and the fiscal year 2014 budget, including the possibility of adding a second school resource officer and who would pay for that. At Swift Community Center at 7 p.m.
Orange Leaf’s One Fund event: Orange Leaf Yogurt will donate 10 percent of all proceeds directly to the ONE Fund, to help those most affected by the Boston Marathon bombings last month. Stop in for some fro-yo to support a great cause! Between 3 and 7 p.m.

Avenger Home Action: Boys JV Baseball versus Barrington at 4 p.m., Boys JV Volleyball against North Smithfield at 5 p.m., Varsity Volleyball at 6:30 p.m. You can follow all the Avenger action at the EG Booster Club website here.
Lobster Roll time: Every spring, Westminster Unitarian Church goes into lobster mode, making hundreds of lobster rolls. The 22nd Annual Lobster Roll Day is Friday, May 17, but NOW is the time to place your order. For $9.50, you get succulent lobster mixed with a little mayo, presented on a buttered roll, with a side of potato chips. As always, there are no fillers. Order 6+ rolls and get free delivery in East and West Greenwich, Warwick, Cranston, North and South Kingstown, Coventry, West Warwick, Exeter and Narragansett. There is a $5 delivery charge outside the free delivery area. Orders may also be picked up by 12:30 p.m. at Westminster. Orders of fewer than 6 rolls are pick-up only. Library Book Sale books, volunteers needed: The Friends of the EG Library are holding their annual book sale on Saturday, May 11, and they could use some more books! They are also looking for help sorting, stacking, selling. If you can help out, contact  Shifts are as short as an hour ... or as long as you want. You might even decide to join the Friends. Cove Commission meeting: New business on the agenda includes 48 Water Street (not sure why!), mooring issues, the URI Watershed Watch, and Town Boat Ramp maintenance. In the conference room across from Council Chambers at Town Hall, at 4:30 p.m.
School Building Committee meeting: On the agenda is electrical energy savings and long-term planning. In the library at Cole Middle School at 5 p.m.
Town Council meeting: Because they love to meet, the panel is meeting again at Swift Community Center to discuss the 2014 budget some more. Swift Community Center at 7 p.m.
School Committee meeting: The agenda includes an update on the Meadowbrook construction schedule, first read of a new policy on fundraising and discussion of results from the school calendar survey conducted in April. In the library at Cole Middle School at 7 p.m.
