Five Things: Bras, Budget & Rec Sign-Ups

School Committee Budget Session: Tonight the School Committee will hear about the facilities and special education budgets. The meeting takes place in the library at Cole Middle School and starts at 6:30 p.m.

Divorce Care group: This is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. People who understand what you are going through and want to help, lead the sessions. There will be a 30-40 minute video featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects, followed by a discussion and sharing time. Sessions will begin on Thursday, October 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. and will meet at Christ Church Ministry Center (Steeple View Condominiums, 61 Cedar Ave. #1, East Greenwich) for 13 weeks. Avenger Home Action: The Wrestling team has another home meet tonight, this time against Central Falls at 7 p.m. And it’s Senior Night too! To check out all the Avenger action, click here for the Booster Club’s great website.

Parks & Rec February Vacation Sign Ups: Registration begins by mail began Jan. 28 for the EG Parks and Recreation Department's February Vacation programs. Four full days of trips and activities for area children, in grades 1-6, will be offered. Children may either sign up for a whole day of activities or simply a trip or a project. Flyers and registration forms were passed out at the local elementary schools and are available at the office, the Town Hall, the Library, or on the web at  www.eastgreenwichri.com. Join the fun: Biomes Marine Biology Center, Monster Mini Golf, Adventures in Space, Kingstown Bowl, ice skating, Aim High Academy, Roger Williams Park Zoo, Narragansett Ocean Club. Bra Trade-In at Staci’s through today: Bring in any old, worn, or ill -fitting bra to Staci’s on Main Street and trade it in for a new one of your choice and receive $10 off – limit 4 – through Jan. 31. All donated bras will be sent to Bra Recycle, where they are distributed to women in hardship.

Booster Club’s Ultimate Hoedown: It's time to giddy up and head on over to the second annual Booster Bash benefitting East Greenwich Athletics! The Ultimate Hoedown-Booster Throwdown takes place Saturday, Feb. 9, 2012 at the Quonset O Club.
