EG Rotary Citrus Pickup Saturday: It's pickup day for all those who pre-ordered Florida citrus fruit and gift baskets from EG Rotary! If you cannot pick up your order Saturday, please call Bonnie at 885-4650 to make alternate arrangements. If you did not pre-order, we still have plenty of oranges, grapefruits and pears available. All profits from this fundraiser are given to local organizations and projects. So come on down and improve your own life by helping others with the purchase of some delicious fruit. Thanks to all of our customers for your continued support!Â
Wreath Sale at Felicia’s: Boy Scout Troop 2 EG is selling Christmas wreaths outside Felicia’s Coffee today from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is an annual fundraiser and proceeds go to purchase Troop equipment and supplies and to offset trip expenses. The wreaths are made from natural balsam fir, come with a red satin bow and are available in two sizes The sizes and prices are: 18-20 inch wreath: $12 each; 36-42 inch wreath: $30 each.
Make a Gingerbread House: London Bridge Learning Center is holding a gingerbread house making event Saturday. For $25 you get a house, candy and icing. There are two sessions, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Fireman’s Hall. Call Janet for tickets, 401-338-5406. Limited tickets may be available at the door.
Jungle Book KIDS! at EGHS: Frenchtown Elementary School presents Jungle Book KIDS! Please join us at East Greenwich High School today at 2 p.m. for a wild time! Suggested donation is $5 per person.

Colonial Yuletide Celebration: The Varnum Continentals will host its ninth annual Colonial Yuletide Celebration on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Varnum House Museum, 57 Pierce St. A $5 donation per person is requested; $20 per family. The museum will feature festive holiday decorations and host guided tours by local Girl Scout Troops. As a special treat, these guest tour guides will dress in period costume! In addition, members of the Varnum Continentals will attend the event in full Revolutionary War-era uniforms. You can visit the Varnum Continentals online at http://www.varnumcontinentals.org/.
Santa photo op: Bernard Photography is holding a Santa shoot today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shoot is free with your donation of an unwrapped toy for the "Toys for Tots" program. This is a great opportunity to help some local kids in need this holiday season and also get a fun photo with Santa Claus. Outdoor workout: Wicked fun outdoor workout led by Ryan McGowan of Laid-back Fitness, this event is a fundraiser for the Frozen Clam Plunge which benefits the Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership! Recommended donation of $5-20 per person. I'm thinking I'm going to try this!

Patch’s ‘Deck the House’ contest: Are you a holiday house decoration nut, or know one in EG? Well, we’re looking for the most decorated houses in town to participate in the second annual Patch Deck the House Contest. The overall winner brings $100,000 to their school district, but runner’s up get up to $500 back on their electricity bill. So far, we have one entrant, Stanley, pictured here.
