Bianca Sperduti (EGHS Class of 2011, URI Class of 2015) was in the running to open for singer Tyler Ward. From where she sits, she had much more success than she expected that she’s grateful. Photos with Santa: The big guy is coming to Sara Zarrella Photography today. You can book a 15-minute photo session and get individual professional attention. Santa will be providing hot cider and cookies for all attendees. Call 401-398-2922 to book your appointment.Â
Heritage Art Gallery and Glass Studio: Heritage Gallery is hosting an open house tonight and holiday purchases are 20 percent off. In addition to a discount for you, Heritage Gallery will donate 10 percent of their proceeds to RI Red Cross. Professional calligraphy artist Jane Parillo of Scribe will be there to personalize any and all ornament purchases to create an individualized gift or keepsake. There will be music by R.I. vocalist Paula Clare Ciminero and refreshments – of course! From 5 to 8 p.m.
Jungle Book KIDS! at EGHS: Frenchtown Elementary School presents Jungle Book KIDS! Please join us at East Greenwich High School tonight at 6:30 p.m. and tomorrow, (Dec. 8) at 2 p.m. for a wild time! Suggested donation is $5 per person.
Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

EG Rotary Citrus Pickup Saturday: It's pickup day for all those who pre-ordered Florida citrus fruit and gift baskets from EG Rotary! If you cannot pick up your order Saturday, please call Bonnie at 885-4650 to make alternate arrangements. If you did not pre-order, we still have plenty of oranges, grapefruits and pears available. All profits from this fundraiser are given to local organizations and projects. Make a Gingerbread House: London Bridge Learning Center is holding a gingerbread house making event Saturday. For $25 you get a house, candy and icing. There are two sessions, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Fireman’s Hall. Call Janet for tickets, 401-338-5406. Limited tickets may be available at the door.
Colonial Yuletide Celebration: The Varnum Continentals will host its ninth annual Colonial Yuletide Celebration on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Varnum House Museum, 57 Pierce St. A $5 donation per person is requested; $20 per family. The museum will feature festive holiday decorations and host guided tours by local Girl Scout Troops. As a special treat, these guest tour guides will dress in period costume!
