Five Things: EG Memories, Safety Town

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, May 20.

EG Historic Preservation Society meeting: EGHPS members will hear the memories of Betsey Carpenter Thomson at tonight’s monthly meeting, as she describes what life used to be like in the Frenchtown and Shippetown neighborhoods. A lifelong resident of East Greenwich, Ms. Thomson still lives in the house on Division Street where she was born and raised. She is a Master Gardener who remembers that there were few trees in that part of town – the area was home to many dairy farms. At the Old Jail, 110 King Street, at 7:30 p.m., with a potluck supper at 6:30. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.

Rok Bar’s ‘Half-Off Mondays’: Everything on the menu at Rok Bar and Grille is half off on Mondays.
