Trash pickup delayed one day: Because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday Monday, trash is delayed one day this week. So, if your trash is usually picked up on Thursday, it will be picked up on Friday this week.
Fire District meeting: On the agenda is discussion and possible vote of the retiree benefits; the course of action on consolidating dispatch with Warwick; correspondence from DOT and PAL regarding the lot at Cedar Avenue and Post Road; and strategic planning. What’s not on the agenda? Any mention of a possible merger with the town.
Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt Grand Opening:Â Orange Leaf at 1000 Division Street has been open for a couple months but today they are holding a Grand Opening celebration, with a ribbon-cutting at noon and up to 6 oz. of free frozen yogurt between 3 to 5 p.m. Superior Court Justice Brian Stern will be on hand to cut the ribbon alongside Town Council President, Michael Isaacs, at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 12 p.m.
Talk w/photographer Scott Indermaur: Artist John Jacobson and East Greenwich’s Scott Indermaur will talk tonight about their current exhibit on view in the AS220 Main Gallery, 115 Empire St., Providence, and there will also be a screening of Revealed: Portraits from Beneath One’s Surface film. FREE. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Weather: Still really cold! Just look at your rhododendrom. High of 22 degrees, a low of 8. While it gets a little better Friday through the weekend, we won't see north of 30 degrees until Monday, according to the Weather Channel, anyway. An Afternoon at Downton Abbey: Join the Friends of East Greenwich Free Library for a discussion of everyone's favorite show from over the pond - we will dish characters and past and possible future plot developments (spoiler alert - a primary character will die!). Other items on the dance card will be: a display of books relating to the era; a raffle of "The Unofficial Downton Abbey Cookbook" Â and afternoon tea! EGHS Hockey – The Icemen Cometh: Come watch your EGHS Avengers on Ice as they take on the SKHS Rebels in West Warwick For each paid EGHS student admission, student will receive "Puck Bucks," good for future use at one of The Avengers Booster Bites Concession Stands back on campus. The first 50 people at the game get to grab a free spirit pom, compliments of The Avengers Booster Club. Don't be left out in the cold... Come watch the Avengers ice the Rebels! At 6 p.m. at the West Warwick Civic Center, 100 Factory St., $5 admission.
