Trash pickup delayed one day: Because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday Monday, trash is delayed one day this week. So, if your trash is usually picked up on Tuesday, it will be picked up on Wednesday this week.
School Committee meeting: On the agenda is an overview of the FY 2014 budget and the EGHS program of studies. The meeting takes place in the library at Cole Middle School and starts at 7 p.m. The agenda is attached, right.
Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's CVS Caremark Hiring Our Heroes hiring fair, sponsored by CVS Caremark, takes place today at the Warwick Armory. This hiring fair for Rhode Island veterans/military spouse job seekers is co-sponsored locally by the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR) and the Rhode Island National Guard. Joint Town Council–Planning Board meeting: The two panels meet to discuss the Comprehensive Plan. The purpose of that meeting will be to further discuss the Town's Draft Comprehensive Community Plan. The complete Draft Plan was first presented on Dec. 10, in a required public hearing. That hearing will continue in the Town Council's regular session on Feb. 11. The Plan is likely to be revised based on comments received between now and then.

An Afternoon at Downton Abbey: Join the Friends of East Greenwich Free Library for a discussion of everyone's favorite show from over the pond - we will dish characters and past and possible future plot developments (spoiler alert - a primary character will die!). Other items on the dance card will be: a display of books relating to the era; a raffle of "The Unofficial Downton Abbey Cookbook" Â and afternoon tea!
