Five Things: Tree Lighting, Strolling, Santa
Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Nov. 29.

Santa at Town Hall:Â It can be hard to estimate travel time from the North Pole to Main Street, East Greenwich, but predictions are that Santa will touch down sometime after 5 p.m. at Town Hall. Once there, Santa will flip the switch to light the tree then retire inside to Council Chambers, where children may visit him.Â
Main Street Stroll:Â The first of four special holiday strolls takes place tonight on Main Street. Most shops will be open late and even Jiggers is getting into the act, staying open until 8 p.m. Shop and eat, or eat and shop. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from!
Divorce Care: A friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. People who understand what you are going through and want to help are the people who lead the sessions. There will be a 30- to 40-minute video featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects, followed by a discussion and sharing time. Sessions meet at Christ Church Ministry Center (Steeple View Condominiums, 61 Cedar Ave. #1, East Greenwich) for 13 weeks. For more information visit the Christ Church website (www.christchurchec.org), call the church office (884-8632) or email us at: info@christchurchec.org.
Avengers headed to the Super Bowl: If you haven't heard, the EG Football team beat Moses Brown last night for a berth in the Division III Super Bowl (for the first time in six years!). They will play Middletown on Sunday at 2 p.m. right here at Carcieri Field. Congrats and get 'em, Avengers!
What I want for Christmas: To reach 1,000 Facebook "likes"! As of Wednesday night, we had 930 ... won't you help? Click here for the link.
