Frenchtown Road To Close 1 Lane For Water Main Work

The road will be down to one alternating lane to allow for overnight construction. Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.

EAST GREENWICH, RI — Part of Frenchtown Road will be partially closed to traffic on Friday night into Saturday morning. The single lane closure will allow for water main work in the area, police said.

One lane will be closed starting at 7 p.m. on Friday. Work is expected to be completed by 10 a.m. the next day. During the closure, officers will be at the site to direct traffic, which will run in both directions, alternating along the single open lane.

Throughout the closure, residents will be able to get to their homes and Frenchtown School will be accessible.

To minimize traffic, drivers are encouraged to detour around the area using Middle or South Road.
