Naked Man Spotted In Cracker Barrel Parking Lot Ordered To Stay Away: Cops

He did not want to be around his girlfriend and her child, who is not his, police said.

EAST GREENWICH, RI — A man staying in a Cracker Barrel parking lot because he did not want to be around his girlfriend and her child was ordered to go elsewhere, police said.

An East Greenwich officer was sent to the Cracker Barrel on Center of New England Boulevard shortly after 8:30 p.m. Thursday "for a report of a naked man who was living in the parking lot," police said.

The officer met with the Cracker Barrel shift supervisor, police said, and was informed there was a "man living out of a Honda SUV in the corner of the parking lot."

The shift supervisor told the officer a co-worker noticed the same vehicle in the lot the last two weeks, police said, and that the "man recently was seen stripping down to his underwear by his vehicle, while minor Cracker Barrel employees were in the area."

Then, on the night in question, the co-worker "observed the man fully naked in the parking lot.," police said, and the shift supervisor asked for him to be "removed."

"I approached the man, who was shirtless, sitting in the trunk of his vehicle," a gray Honda Pilot, the officer said in his report.

The shirtless man, a 36-year-old, explained he has a home in Warwick "but chooses to come sleep in his car ... in the Cracker Barrel parking lot," police said.

"He stated it is because his girlfriend is at home with a child that is not his, and he prefers to not be around while they are there," according to a police report.

The officer told the man he could no longer stay in the Cracker Barrel parking lot, police said, and also "informed him he was seen getting naked and changed while minors were in the area."

"I told (the man) he is to leave right now and not return to sleep here anymore," the officer said in the report.

The man then "left without debate," the report said.
