Obituary: Dennis J. Wajda, Jr., 45

The Munroe Dairy milkman who delivered to many East Greenwich homes died suddenly last week.


Dennis J. Wajda, Jr., 45, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 28, at his home in Barrington. Wajda was a Munroe Dairy milkman and delivered to many households in East Greenwich.

Born in Fall River, Wadja was a lifelong Barrington resident. He was a son of the late Dennis J. and Anne E. (Teixeira) Wajda.

He was a member of the East Rod & Gun Club, Warren Gun Club, MMATV Club, coach for Barrington Pop Warner Football, volunteer for Dad's Firework Crew, and an Eagle Scout.

Dennis will be sadly missed by his children, Dennis J. Wajda, III; Robert J. Wajda; and Carrie A. Frates, all of Barrington; his brother, Kenneth F. Wajda and his wife, Wendy; his sister, Deborah L. Wajda; grandmother, Lottie Wajda; and niece, Laura Wajda, all of Barrington.

On the Munroe Dairy Facebook page Thursday, there was this message from the company: "Yesterday we lost one of the best Milkmen to ever be a part of the Munroe Dairy Family, Dennis Wajda. His giant smile, laughter and love for life will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his children and family."

Munroe customers in EG on Dennis's route expressed sadness upon hearing the news.

"He was our milkman and the nicest person ever! Deepest sympathies to his family for their loss. He will be greatly missed!" wrote Tamara Glennon on the Munroe Facebook page.

"Terribly sad to hear. Dennis was a great man – very thoughtful. Prayers to his family," wrote Jessica Gianfrocco.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wadja and Munroe Dairy family. Dennis was a caring man, and even delivered our milk when I would forget to place my order!" wrote Lisa Pomeroy. 
 
Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St. in Warren. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
