Obituary: Edward J. Corbett, 101
Born in County Cork, Ireland, he was devoted to his family and was an avid Red Sox fan.

Edward J. Corbett, 101, passed away May 11. He was the husband of the late Eleanor J. (O'Donnell) Corbett. Born in County Cork, Ireland he was a son of the late Randalls and Kate (Flanagan) Corbett.
Mr. Corbett was a retired police officer for the City of Boston and a WWII Coast Guard veteran.
He is survived by four children, Edward J. Corbett and his wife Priscilla; Randall J. Corbett and his wife Jeanne; David M. Corbett and his wife Ellen; and Charlotte L. Thompson and her husband Jack; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was devoted to his family and was an avid Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed singing in the choir and in other musical groups over the years. Ed's beloved wife Eleanor passed away 10 years ago on the same date.
His family would like to extend heartfelt appreciate to the staff at Greenwich Bay Manor for the wonderful care and attention that Ed received during his 12 years there.

The funeral takes place Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1130 Ten Rod Road, Suite C104, North Kingstown, R.I. 02852.
