Obituary: Frances Almonte Medeiros, 80

Frances Almonte Medeiros, 80, died on Tuesday, May 21. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Medeiros for 54 years. Frances was the daughter of the late Angelo and Santina Villella Almonte.

She graduated from St. Xavier High School, and Magna Cum Laude from Salve Regina College. For many years, she and her husband operated the Monte Vista Restaurant in Seekonk.

Frances is also survived by daughter Sandra McCoy and her husband John McCoy, and four sons, Joseph Medeiros, Jr, Robert F. Medeiros and his wife Christine, Richard A. Medeiros, and Gilbert Medeiros and his wife Kimberly. She was the loving grandmother of Paige, James, Jessica and Jordan McCoy, Morgan, Michael and Anthony Medeiros. She was the sister of Angelo, Anthony, Peter, and William Almonte, Ann Toro, and the late Elaine Fagnant.

Funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main Street, East Greenwich, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., EG. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours are on Friday from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Frances may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Providence, R.I. 02906.
