Obituary: Jeffery W. Dennard, 67

Jeffery W. Dennard, 67, passed away suddenly Saturday, Dec. 15, at home. He was happily married to his adoring wife of 35 years, Kathleen (McKenna) Dennard.

Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Dr. William E. and Juanita (Purpus) Dennard. He was the loving father to Brendan McKenna Dennard of Boston, Mass., and Shannon Elizabeth Dennard of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the brother of the late Judith Lyman and Brian Dennard. He was a devoted son-in-law to Muriel McKenna of Warwick. He was a caring uncle to seven nieces and nephews, as well as to his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was a consummate professional in the field of public relations and communications and proud of his work in journalism, both in government and the private sector. He recently found tremendous joy in working at LaSalle Academy as Director of Communications.

His passions in life included playing golf at Potowomut Golf Club and skiing the slopes of Okemo Mountain. He found peace and joy in being baptized Catholic in 2004 and was committed to his faith and family to the end. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, South Kingstown, on Friday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
