Obituary: John H. Robertson, 79

John H. Robertson, 79, of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and formerly of East Greenwich, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, in Boca Raton, Fla. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Benedetti) Robertson.

Mr. Robertson was born in Dundee, Scotland, and was the son of the late John and Catherine (Hutchins) Robertson. John was employed by Interplex Industries of New York for 36 years. He started his career as the first managing director of Interplex PMP in 1968 in Arbroath, Scotland. In the 1970s he moved to New York to become executive vice president of Interplex Industries. In 1982 he moved to Rhode Island and became president/CEO of Interplex Metals until his retirement in 2004.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Nancy McNeill and her husband Ian, of Warwick, R.I., Lesley Patel and her husband Roy, of England, and Wendy Robertson of Scituate, R.I.; his two stepchildren, Karen Souza of Wallingford, Conn., and Robert Souza and his wife Joy of Hope, R.I.; his nine grandchildren, Jamie, Megan, Elisha, Becky, Caitlin, Alexandria, Christian, Madeline and Abigail; and his three great-grandchildren, Helena, Thomas and Evan.
