Obituary: Norma C. (Pantalone) Walsh

Norma C. (Pantalone) Walsh, of Warwick, passed away on May 5. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Vincent and Antonnetta Pantalone (Caione).

Norma graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1950 and received a degree in fashion merchandising from Johnson & Wales University. She worked with her father, sisters, and cousins at Vincent’s Specialty Store on Atwells Avenue in Providence before opening her own store, Norma & Sons, on Federal Hill.

Norma was secretary of the Federal Hill Businessmen’s Association in the 1970s and was proud of her contributions to the Hill’s renaissance during that time, which included the St. Joseph’s Day parade. She later returned to her father’s baby clothes store as owner. In recent years, Norma had worked at Walsh & Associates, her sons’ advertising agency in East Greenwich.

Norma is survived by her son Robert and his wife Cindy of West Greenwich; her son John and his wife Debra of East Greenwich; and her son James and Lorena Reyes of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was the proud Nonnie of five grandchildren: Emma, Peter, Oliver, Evan, and Juliana. Norma also leaves her sister, Marie Paulson. She was pre-deceased by her sisters Grace Sarcione and Rita Mainelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Requiem Eucharist at St. Luke’s Church in East Greenwich on Friday, May 10 at 11. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Luke’s Church, 99 Peirce Street, East Greenwich, R.I. 02818 would be appreciated.
