Obituary: Peter Klanian, 80
The East Greenwich man served in the Korean War and worked in the insurance industry.

Peter Klanian, 80, of East Greenwich, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Kent Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband for 50 years of Lillian S. (Berberian) Klanian. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Hovaness and Haigouhi (Arboian) Klanian.
Mr. Klanian was a graduate of Hope High School and the University of Rhode Island where he was a member of Phi Mu Delta Fraternity. He graduated from Boston University Law School and was an underwriter in the insurance industry for many years. He served with the rank of 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; was a member of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church; and a member of the Knights of Vartan.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Michele A. Klanian of Chicago, Ill., Laura M. Solis and her husband James of Westerly, Peter J. Klanian and his wife Kirsten of Middletown, and Christine L. Geishecker and her husband Paul of Medfield, Mass.; loving grandfather of Lia, Ian and Livia Klanian and Hayden, Ethan and Nolan Geishecker; and dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur, George and Jack Klanian, Sarah Tcheurekdjian and Harriet Silva.

His funeral will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
