Parking Ban in Effect until Monday Morning

It's the first parking ban of the season for East Greenwich.

EAST GREENWICH, RI—A parking ban is in effect until 8 a.m. Monday due to snow-covered roads.

A National Weather Service Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m.

The snowfall, fueled by an ocean storm and cold and low pressure from the north, is expected to bring anywhere from 1 to 3 inches with some spots seeing 2 to 4.

Snow should taper off late tonight, accompanied by much colder temperatures in the mid 20s. With wind gusts up to 45 mph, Tuesday could feel brutally cold with a ”feel like” temperature in the single digits.

This snowfall marks just the second measurable snowfall so far this winter.

While this snow event was relatively minor, a genuine snowmaker appears to be heading our way this weekend. Forecasts could change drastically over the next few days, but current models show anywhere from 7 to 11 inches falling from Friday through Saturday.
