Police Log: Booze, Pot, And 2 Warrants

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Friday, Dec. 28

8:49 p.m. – Police arrested Juan Gonzalez, 22, of Oxford Avenue in Warwick for driving with a suspended license, and Michael Stevens, 21, of Grace Avenue in Warwick, for possessing marijuana, first offense, after police pulled over the car Gonzalez was driving because it had no front license plate. Stevens was in the back seat of the car and he told police he had marijuana on him, handing over two plastic bags of the stuff. Routine checks turned up Gonzalez’s license suspension. Stevens and Gonzalez were processed at the police station and released with court summonses. The case against Gonzalez was dismissed and his license reinstated March 1. The case against Stevens was also dismissed, with completion of 20 hours of community service, on March 1.


1:42 p.m. – Police arrested Susan Golding, 57, of Aquarius Court in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on two Superior Court bench warrants after the car she was traveling in was involved in an accident on the New England Turnpike.

Sunday, Dec. 30

Between 2 and 3:25 a.m. – Police had a total of seven cars towed because they parked on Main Street, King Street or Marlborough Street during a parking ban due for snow-removal purposes.
