Police Log: Disorderly Conduct, A Flying Elbow

Monday, Nov. 5

8:45 a.m. – Police arrested Thomas Cardillo, 55, of Starline Way in Cranston, for driving with an expired license after he was stopped while driving on Shippeetown Road near Crompton Road. Police pulled Cardillo over because the plates on his car did not match the car’s make. Cardillo did not have a bill of sale for the car, which he said was new. He couldn’t produce proof of insurance either. The license he gave to police was an expired license from Florida. He had an expired R.I. license from 2009, police learned. Cardillo was issued his violations and the car was towed from the scene.

11:50 a.m. – Police arrested a 15-year-old EGHS student on charges of assault and disorderly conduct after she allegedly elbowed a teacher in the chest and was swearing and uncooperative in the classroom. According to the police, the girl was late to class so the teacher had her go to the office for a pass. Upon return, however, the girl became very upset because she couldn’t find her phone. She started swearing and looking in her backpack without success. The teacher told the girl to stop. The teacher asked again, at which point the student elbowed the teacher in the chest. At that point the teacher, who was not injured, told the girl to report to the principal’s office and the girl obeyed. 

1:28 p.m. – A Crop Street resident reported having received six harassing phone calls this day. She said she could hear someone was on the line but the person wouldn’t speak. She gave police the phone number. Police called the number and spoke with a man who said he’d never called anyone in Rhode Island.

Tuesday, Nov. 6

1:58 p.m. – Police arrested Robert Conneally, 33, of Pequot Trail, for domestic assault and disorderly conduct after an argument that got physical with his girlfriend, who was 8 months pregnant. He was booked and processed at the station.

Wednesday, Nov. 7

3:36 p.m. – A Kent Drive man reported fraudulent credit card use, noting a $95 charge from a Dunkin Donuts he said he never made.
