Police Log: Hostile Tenant, Burnt Out Plate Light

Tuesday, Jan. 15

7:49 p.m. – Police arrested Sarah Hogan, 30, of Washington Street in Coventry, for driving with a suspended license after she was pulled over on Main Street for not wearing a seat belt. Routine checks turned up the suspension. She was issued a court summons and a seatbelt violation and released at the scene. A family member came to pick up the car.

Wednesday, Jan. 16

12:59 a.m. – Police arrested Matthew MacDonald, 29, of Ideal Court in Warwick, on a District Court bench warrant after the car he was a passenger in ran a stop sign at Peirce and Main streets. Unable to make bail, MacDonald was transferred to the ACI.

10:30 a.m. – Police arrested Jesse Cordeiro, 26, of Smith Street in Providence, for allegedly evading a taxi bill on Dec. 27. He was arraigned in District Court.

Friday, Jan. 18

2:39 a.m. – Police assisted EG Fire at a house on Division Road after the report of a fire alarm sounding. No one was in the house. The boiler appears to have malfunctioned and filled the house with smoke. The homeowner was out of state; her son was notified and came to the house to deal with the problem.

8:39 p.m. – Police arrested Christopher Sullivan, 40, of Elm Street in Mystic, Conn., for driving with a suspended license as well as an active bench warrant, after he was stopped for allegedly speeding while driving north on Post Road. He was taken into custody and transferred to the ACI.

Saturday, Jan. 19

9:44 p.m. – Police arrested Michael Fritz, 24, of Dry Bridge Road in North Kingstown, for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over driving west on Division Street because of a burnt out rear plate light. Ed. Note: The case was dismissed due to DMV error.

Sunday, Jan. 20

11:54 a.m. – A woman who works at the Greenwich Hotel told police a tenant had yelled at her when she attempted to clean his room. She said she found a hole in a wall in the room that she said was caused during a fight the tenant had with another tenant. Police reportedly told the man to be civil.

12:03 p.m. – A Spring Street resident said he wanted a resumption of a No Trespass order against his ex-wife, who he said had been driving past his house. Police delivered the order to the ex-wife, who lives in Warwick.
