Police Log: Kicked Door, Sick Raccoon

Information about the following incidents was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Dec. 13

11:21 a.m. – Police arrested Donald Corvese, 37, at the police station on an outstanding warrant for using false representation to obtain a controlled substance at the CVS Pharmacy on Main Street on Nov. 12.

7:50 a.m. – A California man told police two computers were taken from his car while it was parked overnight in a lot off of Main Street. The man said he was unsure whether or not he had locked the car. He said he last saw the items on Dec. 12 while at his parents’ house in Warwick.

7:31 p.m. – Police arrested Michael Fay, 39, of Blaine Street in Cranston, for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped on Main Street for driving 36 mph in a 30 mph zone. UPDATE: This case was dismissed.

Dec. 15

3:27 p.m. – A Marlborough Street resident told police a Narragansett man has been stalking him and had been standing near his residence earlier in the day. The resident said he’s a lawyer and is involved in a foreclosure of the house owned by the Narragansett man.

1:10 p.m. – Police put down a raccoon near a house on Brisas Circle after a resident called to say it appeared to be sick. When police arrived, the raccoon was lying on its back on a lawn.

Dec. 16

6:22 p.m. – Police arrested Michael Fantasia, 18, of Queen Street, on charges of disorderly conduct and malicious injury to property after he kicked a door shut so hard that it broke the frame, following an argument with family members. UPDATE: This case was dismissed following completion of 20 hours community service and restitution to the EG Housing Authority for the cost of the door.
