Police Log: Slashed Tire, Barking Dog, Torn Up Lawn

Friday, Nov. 2

9:09 a.m. – A Wine Street resident complained that his neighbor’s dog, left outside all day, barks constantly. Police referred the complaint to the Animal Control Officer.

10:58 a.m. – The owner of Chef-a-Roni reported damage to the stone wall in front of his building. It looked like someone had struck the wall with a car. The owner said the wall was undamaged when he left on Thursday at 6 p.m.

2 p.m. – A resident of Grasslands Drive turned in a piece of jewelry he found while walking his dog in the neighborhood. He said his wife thought the jewelry looked genuine.

Saturday, Nov. 3

8:13 a.m. – Police arrested Paul Wisniewski, 50, of Dogwood Drive in West Warwick, for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over while driving east on Division Street because police knew his registration was expired. Upon routine checking, police learned of the license suspension for driving under the influence. Police took Wisniewski into custody and had the car towed from the scene.

12:40 p.m. – A Duke Street resident reported someone had slashed one of her car tires overnight. She said she suspected a man with whom she’d had a falling out, but did not see him do it. Police talked to the man, an EG resident. He denied any involvement and said he would stay clear of the woman.

Sunday, Nov. 4

1:20 a.m. – Police arrested Jason Cooley, 34, of Lawndale Avenue in Warwick, for driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense, and refusing to take a chemical breath test, after he was stopped because he drove through a stop sign at King and Main streets and nearly hit a police car while completing the turn onto Main Street. Police smelled alcohol on Cooley, who failed a field sobriety test. Police had the car towed from the scene and took Cooley into custody. At the police station, he refused to take the breath test. 

2 p.m. – A Cindy Ann Drive resident reported someone had torn up about 50 feet of lawn in his front yard overnight. 

Monday, Nov. 5

1:19 a.m. – Police arrested Maegan Borowski, 22, of Redbrook Lane in West Warwick, for driving with a suspended license after she was stopped by police for failing to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Duke and King streets. Routine checks turned up the license suspension for failing to complete a driver training course following a DUI arrest last year. Police issued a court summons and a passenger drove the car from the scene.
