Two Dead after Head Head-On Crash on I-95
A wrong-way driver on Interstate 95 caused a fatal crash.

EAST GREENWICH, RIβTwo people were killed after a head-on crash on Interstate 95 early Monday morning.

The state police said both drivers were transported to area hospitals and both were pronounced dead.
The crash happened between Exits 7 and 8 a little after midnight in the southbound lanes.

The highway was shut down for a period of time as crews extricated the victims and investigated the crash.
Both vehicles, a Dodge Charger and a Toyota Camry, were severely damaged.

The state police have not yet released the names of the victims. An update was expected later Monday.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
