Veterans Day Parade Blessed With Fine Weather
The calendar read Nov. 11, but the temperature said early October, much to the gratitude of spectators and marchers alike.
Among the things that make East Greenwich a small-town idyll are its parades. And this year's Sunday afternoon edition of the Veterans Day Parade was no exception. Despite the unusual time, the parade was well-attended and full to overflowing with participants (including more than 15 vintage fire trucks!).
Grand Marshall Bill Stott, longtime East Greenwich resident and Navy veteran, summed up the feelings of the day: "Today we remember, thank, and pay tribute to all our veterans throughout our nation's history."
Thanks to Carl Hoyer and Leigh Botello and their helpers for organizing the parade.
