[VIDEO] EG Gains Three New Patrolmen
Matthew Larsson, Matthew Cordle and Matthew White were sworn in at the Town Council meeting Monday.

After nearly two years, the EG Police Department will soon have a full complement of officers, following the swearing in Monday night of three probationary patrolman: Matthew Larsson, Matthew Cordle, and Matthew White.
While they are on probation, they will ride with another officer, so the force will not be back to full complement until the end of February, according to Police Chief Tom Coyle.
He noted, in his remarks to the Town Council before the officers were sworn in, that all three men had bachelor's degrees.Â

The process to fill positions left by retirements began 18 months ago. Coyle said 187 people applied for police officer positions then. Many towns feed from the same list, he said, so the list can "disintegrate." But East Greenwich was able to pick from the top ten – Larsson, Cordle and White were in the top five, Coyle said.
With the hiring of former Warwick police officer David DelBonis in September, the EGPD will have filled all vacant positions.
