Here are five things you should know about today in East Providence:

  1. A mix of clouds and sun with a high temperature near 70 degrees.
  2. Sign up today for the AYSO VIP Soccer program for children with special physical and mental needs from 5 to 7 pm at Kent Heights Field, 64 Clyde Ave.; AYSO is holding late sign-ups as well for kids ages 4-15.
  3. Bruno United, a premier youth soccer club for boys and girls, also is holding tryouts at 6 pm at the Federal Road fields in Barrington. See the website www.brunounited.com  for more information.
  4. The East Providence Senior Center offers a “chair exercise” program at 10:45 am to improve your joint mobility and muscle strength.
  5. Newman Congregational Church, 100 Newman Ave., hosts an AA meeting at 8 pm in the chapel.
