5 Things to Know About Today

Showers and thundershowers; summer reading kick-off programs at libraries; summer camp signup continues; Rotary Club gathers.

Here are four things you should know about today, July 1, in and around East Providence:

  1. Showers and thunderstorms likely with a high temperature around 81 degrees.
  2. Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave., hold an all-day summer reading kick-off craft program from 9 am to 8 pm. And sign up to earn prizes for your reading this summer.
  3. The Riverside branch library,  475 Bullocks Point Ave., also holds a summer reading kick-off program today from 9 am to 8 pm.
  4. Have you signed up yet for the East Providence recreation summer camp at Pierce Field; it starts next Monday, July 8, and runs for six weeks rain or shine.
  5. The East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club No. 6691 meets weekly on Monday at 12:15 pm at 1149 East Restaurant, 965 Fall River Ave., in Seekonk.
