Driver Arrested Lacking License after Crash

East Providence Police were called to the area of 801 Taunton Ave. Nov. 10 at about 8:41 a.m. for a report of a two-car accident, ultimately arresting one driver for operating without a license.

Espiritu Castro-Lala, 27, of 63 S. Bow St., Milford, MA had been traveling in the high-speed lane when he made a turn to the right to head into the lot for Taberley's Roofing, cutting across the right lane of travel and striking another car traveling next to him, according to police reports. Castrol Lala failed to yeild for the other car, causing the accident, according to the report.

Castro-Lala didn't have a drivers license, and also told police he is in the country illegally. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

The driver of the second car complained of knee pain from the crash, but was not transported to the hospital for treatment.
