E.P. Man Charged With 3 Counts of Domestic Abuse

East Providence police charge Booth Avenue man, 25, with assaulting his sister and mother.

An East Providence man, 25, was charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of domestic disorderly conduct by police after a verbal battle with his sister escalated into a physical confrontation that grew to involve his mother.

Peter J. Schaefer Jr., of 45 Booth Ave., was arrested late in the morning on June 19 in the Crescent Park Manor, according to the police report. He allegedly pushed and shoved his mother and slapped his sister.

The physical abuse started after Schaefer and his sister reportedly were repeatedly insulting each other. The situation started to get out of hand, according to police, and his mother intervened to try to defuse the incident because he is "much stronger than his sister," she told police.
