Frances M. Cabral, 97, Active in Women's Groups

Frances M. Cabral, of Wheldon Avene, East Providence, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at the Rhode Island Hospital. She was 97.

She was the wife of the late Christiano S. Cabral. Born Oct. 13, 1915, in Trenton, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Dominga Gomes Rodrigues and Miguel Ramos Monteiro. 

She was a foster grandparent for many years, and was a member of the Women's Guild of the Cape Verdean Progressive Center, the Martin de Porres Senior Center, and of the Fatima Council of the Knights of Columbus Women's Guild.

She was the mother of John S. Cabral of East Providence, the late Ernest M. Cabral, and the late Dominga Duarte; grandmother of Ronnie Cabral of West Warwick and Renee Cabral of East Providence, Chris Cabral and Beth Ann Scantlebury; foster mother of John, Kenneth and Audrey Montrond; 10 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and sister of the late Marion Lincoln, Adelena Clinton, Joseph "Lemon" Monteiro and Louis Pina.

Her funeral will take place Thursday, Aug. 15, at 10 am in the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
