George J. Brown, 90, Former Pressman

George J. Brown, Jr., of Wannamoisett Road, East Providence, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, June 17, at his home.  He was 90.

Brown was a third-generation lifelong resident of East Providence. He was the son of George Sr. and Genevieve (Sousa) Brown, formerly of Brightridge Avenue.  He was the husband of Doris (Dambruch) Brown. 

Brown was a pressman for the Providence Journal for 45 years before retiring. He enjoyed numerous activities and was an active member of the East Providence Senior Center. 

Calling hours are today, June 19, from 4 to 7 pm at Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence.  A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 20, at 11 am at Saint Martha’s Church in East Providence followed by a burial service at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
