Lots of Fun, Public Meetings in E.P.

City Council, School Committee, Planning Board all will meet tonight in City Hall as libraries offer a play and an afternoon of movies.

Here are some things you should know about today, Aug. 13, in and around East Providence:

  1. Sun and clouds will mix with a chance of scattered thunderstorms and a high temperature of around 77 degrees.
  2. Members of the Theater Workshop Series at Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave., perform “Penelope: Price of the Pickle Factory” at 10:30 am for family, friends and the public after 6 weeks of rehearsals and planning.
  3. The Riverside Branch Library, 475 Bullocks Point Ave., celebrates the end of summer reading with afternoon movies, snacks, and friends -- for ages 10 and up -- between 2 and 4 pm.
  4. The East Providence City Council meets at 6:30 pm for a special meeting in the Council Chamber at City Hall. 
  5. The East Providence School Committee meets at 7:30 pm for its August meeting in the Council Chamber in City Hall.
  6. The East Providence Planning Board meets at 7 pm in Room 306 in City Hall.
