Maine Pro Takes New England PGA Title at E.P. Country Club
Shawn Warren defeats Ed Kirby of RI by one shot at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford.

Rookie Shawn Warren of Nonesuch River, Maine, is taking home the New England PGA Championship trophy after three rounds of play over the past three days at Wannamoisett Country Club in East Providence and Ledgemont Country Club in Seekonk.
Warren won the 93rd championship late Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 21, by one stroke over Rhode Islander Ed Kirby of Alpine Country Club, who won the 2012 New England championship. Warren finished at 205 or 4 under par for the three-day tourney.
It was Warren’s second win over Kirby in as many weeks. Warren won the 2013 Rhode Island Open last week.
