Monday Essentials: Soccer Sign-Up, Free Movie, Car Showcase on Tap

There will be a real mix of activities in East Providence this week to keep you entertained.

Here are five things you should know about this week, Aug. 5-11, in East Providence:

1.  The week looks mostly sunny with temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s eacy day; Wednesday will have some showers to dampen “hump day.”

2.  Today is your last chance to sign up for AYSO recreational soccer in the fall; go to Kent Heights Park from 5 to 6:30 pm.

3.  The East Providence Parks and Recreation Department summer day camp continues today through Friday at 8:30 am at Pierce Field, 201 Mercer St., and runs all day; you can walk in and register with the proper form and a check for $50.

4.  The Weaver Library continues its Cinemazing Summer Film Series today at 6:30 pm with Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest, starring Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint.

5.  American Legion Post 10, 830 Willett Ave/, hosts a Car Showcase on Saturday, Aug. 10, starting at 10 am with music, raffles and donations for the food bank.
