Pertetua 'Pat' Mauricio, 89, Cape Verdean Girls Club Founder

Her calling hours are today and her funeral is Saturday from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home in East Providence.

Perpetua M.”Pat”  Mauricio, of Doyle Avenue, East Providence, died Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Miriam Hospital. She was 89.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joao and Maria (deSilva) Mauricio.  She was a supervisor at the former Jewish Home for the Aged before retiring.  She was a co-founder of the First Cape Verdean Girls Club of RI and a member of the St. Antonio Association. 

She leaves two sons,  Donald J. Mauricio of Atlanta , Ga. and Kenneth J. Maurice of Providence and one sister, Alda M.”Hilda” Harden of Providence.She was the sister of the late Rufino and Manuel Mauricio, Antonia M. Delgado, Rose M. Lema and Anna M. Webster.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 9 am from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse Street, Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are today from 5-8. In lieu of flowers contributions to Hasbro Childrens Hospital would be appreciated.
