PowerBall® Jackpot Expected to Top $300M
There has not been a jackpot winner for 11 straight drawings.
Brisk sales have caused the PowerBall® jackpot to jump from $290 million to $300 million for the next drawing on Saturday, Aug. 3. It could get even higher before sales close at 9 pm on Saturday.
The jackpot has now rolled 11 times without a winner. The cash option is an estimated $172.7 million. The largest Powerball jackpot was $590.5 million, won in Florida in May 2013.
A $40,000 PowerBall® PowerPlay® ticket sold in Rhode Island for last Saturday's drawing remains unclaimed. The ticket was purchased at Colbea Enterprises, 2200 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence.
