Bomb Threat At East Providence High School
East Providence High School was evacuated due to a bomb threat over the phone, police said.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — A bomb threat was directed toward East Providence High School Thursday morning, police said. The building was evacuated. School officials said the threat was made over the phone. Police searched the building and found nothing.
"This response was out of an abundance of caution," East Providence police said in a statement.
Students were released for the day.

"The students should be commended for their cooperation during the evacuation process; and their parents for the understanding and patience displayed during a difficult and chaotic time," police added.
Police said the investigation into the source of the call was ongoing.
