Valerio Costa, 75, Machine Operator

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at St. Margaret's Church in Rumford.

Valerio Costa, of Puritan Ave. Rumford, East Providence, died August 7, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 75.

He was the husband of Teresinha (Machado) Costa. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on July 8. Born in Sao Jorge, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel Inacio and Maria de Lourdes (Bettencourt Oliveira) Costa.

He worked as a machine operator for Elizabeth Webbing and Nulco manufacturing. He served as a sergeant. in the Portuguese Army in Angola.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Carla and Rui Machado of Clermont, FL, his son and daughter-in-law Miguel and Mary Costa, his 5 grandchildren; Andrew Machado, Christopher Costa, Nicholas Costa, Nathaniel Costa and Alexander Costa.

He is survived by his sister Noemia Costa of Sao Jorge, Azores and Cosme Costa of Terceira, Azores. He was the brother of the late Fernando Costa and Jaime Costa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial today at 9 am in St. Margaret's Church, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
