Weaver Library Hosts Meeting on Rebirth of Barter in E.P.

Here are some things you should know about today, Aug. 7, in and around East Providence: 

1. Mostly sunny with a few afternoon clouds and a high temperature of 79 degrees.
2. You are invited to an exploratory meeting at 7 pm in the Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave., on forming a bartering club in East Providence. Chris Lunghi will lead a discussion of the basic rules of barter and introduce ideas on how a barter club might be organized.
3. Congressman David N. Cicilline (D-RI) brings his “Congress at Your Company” tour to Gripnail Fastening Systems on Dexter Road at 2 pm.
   
4. Learn how to make Yummy Dirt Cups at the Riverside branch library, 475 Bullocks Point Ave., from 11 am to 12:30 pm.
5. Have your kids started their summer reading yet? Weaver Library has the reading lists for the high school and middle schools with a summary of the books.
6. Kids getting a bit bored? Weaver Library has many new passes for places such as Battleship Cove, Southwick’s Zoo, Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester, Old Sturbridge Village  and The Hall of Patriot Place.
