Woman, 24, Charged With DUI After Driving into Building
Providence woman admitted to drinking before she struck the CopyWorld building at Six Corners in East Providence.

A Providence woman, 24, faces a drunk-driving charge after she drove her vehicle into the side of the CopyWorld building in East Providence on Friday evening, Aug. 2.
Yrelis Corporan, of Colfax Street, admitted to drinking a couple of beers and several shots at a friend’s house earlier in the evening, according to the East Providence police. But she said the crash was caused by her getting nervous while driving and leaving the road at Waterman and Tauton avenues – not her drinking.
Corporan was taken to Rhode Island Hospital by East Providence EMTs for treatment of chest pain, according to the arrest report.

Her 2003 Hyundai sedan received extensive front-end damage. There was no information on damage to the business.
Corporan was charged with driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a Breathayzer test to determine the alcohol level in her blood. She was arraigned at the hospital and given a date to appear in District Court to face the charges before being released.
