Your Guide to ‘Concert of Hope’ This Weekend

The Knights of Columbus at 3200 Pawtucket Avenue, Riverside, hosts a “Concert of Hope” on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 18, to collected food for local shelters. 

The event starts at 2 pm.

Live music will be provided by two local performers: the Cranston-based band, None Perfect, and 3CB, according to Mike DeAngelis of Riverside, who posted the event on Patch.

None Perfect describes itself on Facebook as “an eclectic, modern rock, all originals band. We fuse rock, funk ,blues and metal together to create a sound that will grab your attention."

The band’s bio on Reverbnation describes the band as “a hard rock band which fuses influences of blues, metal and some funk undertones. Our hybrid originals provide something for almost every taste in the rock market. Our music is written to be relevant and speaks to life's issues with a message of hope.” 

3CB is basically DeAngelis, who describes his music on Facebook as “bringing back acoustic, folk and music one song at a time.” 

Reverbnation describes him as “a fixture on the Boston music scene playing with such bands as Grey Seal and The John McLaughlin Group. Raised on jazz and folk music with a smattering of rock and blues mixed in...these influences are everywhere in his songs. A published and award winning poet...Mike's lyrics combined with his passionate guitar playing allow his songs to dance inside your heart and mind. Currently a solo act with two CDs "Bits and Pieces" and "Scorpion on the Highway.”

DJ Ron Oliver also will be on hand to spin some great tunes as well, said DeAngelis. There also will be a water slide and other activities for kids, he said.

Admission to the concert is two unexpired food items or a small cash donation, he said. There will be food and fun for all ages, DeAngelis said.
