70-Year-Old Dog Walker Run Down And Killed By Chronic Criminal: Cops
The driver who ran the man down has been arrested more than 100 times and was carrying drugs she intended to distribute, police said.

HOPKINTON, RI β A woman who has been arrested more than 100 times ran down and killed a 70-year-old dog walker, police said.

Shannon Godbout, 41, was heading east on Spring Street when "when she left her lane and struck several objects, including two telephone poles and the pedestrian walking his dogs in the shoulder of the eastbound Lane," the Hopkinton Police Department said in a media release.

The pedestrian, identified as 70-year-old Roderick Macleod of Richmond, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where he died, according to the release.

Godbout was "in possession of numerous illegal narcotics and packaging materials commonly associated with drug distribution," the release said. "She was placed under arrest at the scene and subsequently transported to Westerly Hospital for medical evaluations by Ashaway Ambulance."

Godbout was charged with driving so as to endanger, resulting in death, and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, according to the release.

Godbout's "criminal history includes over 100 arrests," the release said, and she has "received 40 traffic citations," with seven of them coming from the Hopkinton Police Department.
