JAMESTOWN, RI — Beavertail Lighthouse is the "most breathtaking view in Rhode Island," according to a poll conducted by the travel company Exoticca.

"Surveying 3,012 respondents based on their personal experiences, the survey reveals the best vantage points in each state to witness nature’s annual spectacle," Exoticca said in a media release.

And as far as Rhode Island is concerned, the best vantage point in the state is at Beavertail Lighthouse. Here's what Exoticca had to say about it:

At the southern tip of Conanicut Island, the overlook near Beavertail Lighthouse provides sweeping views of Narragansett Bay meeting the Atlantic. In autumn, the coastal scrub and hardwoods take on warm bronze and gold tones, their colors contrasting with the deep blue of the surrounding sea. Waves crash against the rocky shoreline far below, while migratory birds pass overhead under crisp October skies. The lighthouse museum is only open through October 13 (with limited December hours), but the overlook and grounds remain accessible year-round, making this one of Rhode Island’s most dramatic seasonal viewpoints.
