2 Arrested After Police Find Crack Pipe, Heroin and Pills

Two Fall River women were arrested Sunday after Middletown police found heroin, pills and a crack pipe in their car during a traffic stop. Melissa McDermott, 42,  of 574 New Boston Road, Fall River, MA, was charged with felony drug possession, driving with a suspended license and a bench warrant issued out of Superior Court. Kelly Graves, 42, of 576 New Boston Road, Fall River, MA, was charged with a bench warrant issued out of the Sixth District Court and felony drug possession.

Police said they were pulled over after speeding on West Main Road. Police said Graves reached under the passenger seat before she stepped out to be arrested on the bench warrant charge, so they searched the car.  Police found two bundles of heroin, containing 74 individually wrapped bags of the drug. Police also found several used needles, a crack pipe, oxycodone and hydrocodone pills. Police found new clothing and accessories that had sales tags attached, but the women could not produce sales receipts, said police. The women denied the items were stolen, said police.
