An 18 year-old Middletown female was charged with a social host violation after police reported a party she allegedly hosted got out of control.

The following incident was reported by the :
An 18 year-old Middletown female was cited last night on a social host ordinance for a party that police said reached around 200 people and was out of control. Â In attempt to break-up the party, police said they required assistance from the Newport Police Department and physical force, including the use of a taser. Â In the struggle to gain control of the crowd, two individuals incurred injuries that required medical treatment and property was damaged, said police. Â Â
Kaylin Maddox, of 180 Allston Ave., who allegedly hosted the party and was cited with the social host ordinance, reportedly told police that the party had initially started out small, but escalated through social media. Â
This incident fell on the same day that  he allegedly hosted on on May 28 in Exeter.
The social host law penalizes property owners if individuals under the age of 21 are caught drinking on their property. Historically, the social host law has been used to hold adults accountable for under-age drinking. Some have said Chafee’s case may set a new precedence of how this law is applied in Rhode Island.
When Middletown Police arrived at the party on Allston Avenue around 10:16 last night, they said people were jumping out of the windows and the house was littered with beer cans, liquor bottles and remnants of marijuana.
Police said in an attempt to gain control of the crowd, one male got into a physical confrontation with two officers and the three fell through patio furniture on the deck. Â Police said they had to use a taser gun to gain control of the individual.
Another male reportedly pushed an officer in the chest and attempted to run away.
Police said the large crowd became unruly and uncooperative, and they requested assistance from the Newport Police Department. Â Â
Police said when they checked to ensure everyone was out of the house and take pictures, an officer could see an individual behind a door in the back of a closet. The officer said after a warning, Â the door was kicked open. Â When it swung open, it struck Kaylin Maddox in her face and her head started bleeding, said police. Â
She reportedly admitted she was the host of the party and said that her family was supposed to move into the house next week. She said the party got out of control through Facebook and Twitter, said police.
The male who was tasered and Maddox were transported to the Newport Hospital. At the hospital she was issued a municipal court citation for a social host violation. Minors who were found to be drinking were issued municipal court citations.
